Because of this we are excited to announce that over the next three months our Company will be donating 1/3 of all commissions earned on real estate transactions to the Children’s Hospital Foundation. For example, if you own a home and Madison Taylor Real Estate Inc. sells the home for $500,000, we will donate $5000 (based on the typical selling agent commission of 3%) to the Children’s Hospital Foundation. In 2004, we discovered our daughter Madison had a heart defect called Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). We consulted with a local cardiologist who was recommended by our pediatrician. The Cardiologist informed us our four-year-old daughter would require open heart surgery to repair the defect. This news was terrifying and it took a while for us to wrap our minds around the thought of our little girl having to go through such a serious surgery. We followed the advice of friends and sought a second opinion from Dr. Ruckman with Children’s Hospital. After a thorough examination, Dr. Ruckman confirmed there was a heart defect, but recommended a minimally invasive procedure to patch the hole in our daughter’s heart. A few months later a catheter delivered device called an Amplatzer Septal Occluder was positioned in our daughter’s heart and closed the hole. We still remember the relief we felt when the surgeon Dr. Michael C. Slack told us “the procedure went perfectly.” Our daughter is now a very active six-year-old. She is in kindergarten and enjoys many local after-school activities, including dance, gymnastics, music classes, and T-Ball. From our family’s perspective, Children’s Hospital performed a miracle for our daughter and we are very grateful. We fully support the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Though we have met many families who have had similar experiences as ours, we have been surprised how many families are unaware of the amazing options and care provided by Children’s Hospital.
